Posted in Uncategorized by admin on the February 28th, 2008

The Regional Enhanced Programme is a Canadian educational programme designed for gifted students.

The Peel Board of Education defines gifted students as children that have an unusually advanced degree of general intellectual ability that requires differentiated learning experiences of a depth and breadth beyond those normally provided in the regular school programme to satisfy the level of educational potential indicated.

The curriculum of an enhanced programme at the middle school level could include special tasks or projects designed to challenge gifted students. At the high school level, the course material is the same but the manner of teaching and/or the assignments given can vary based on the needs of the students.

Dirty Tricks || Full Moon, Dirty Hearts

Posted in Uncategorized by admin on the February 27th, 2008

Full Moon, Dirty Hearts is an album released by Australian band INXS in 1993, through Warner Music Australia. Total running time is 40 minutes. This album was followed by the Dirty Honeymoon world tour of 1993-1994.

The band wanted to go back to their roots for the tour, so they played in pubs and clubs as a way of showing everyone where they came from. The media however took it as the band not being popular anymore, so they criticized the band. The album was, once again, a victim of lack of promotion by the record label as Full Moon Dirty Hearts was the last album in the contract. So overall considered generally a critical and commercial failure in the United States, as it represented another turn in musical direction from the previous album, Welcome to Wherever You Are.

“Please” features vocals by Ray Charles; the title track features vocals by Chrissie Hynde.

Moved || Pacific Comics

Posted in Uncategorized by admin on the February 27th, 2008

Pacific Comics was one of the independent comic book publishers that flourished in the early 1980s.

Pacific Comics (PC) began out of a San Diego, California comic book shop owned by Bill and Steve Schanes. They, along with First Comics and Eclipse Comics, moved to take advantage of the growing direct market. PC managed to attract a number of writers and artists from DC and Marvel with creator-owned titles. And as they were not subject to the Comics Code they were able to use more mature content.

Notable titles by PC included the six-part adaptation of Elric of Melniboné by Roy Thomas, P. Craig Russell and Michael T. Gilbert, Captain Victory and the Galactic Rangers and Silver Star by Jack Kirby; The Rocketeer by Dave Stevens; Groo the Wanderer by Sergio Aragones, Mark Evanier, and Stan Sakai; and Twisted Tales and Alien Worlds, two anthology titles edited, and chiefly written, by Bruce Jones.

Pacific Comics ceased operations in 1984, with some of the surviving titles going to First Comics and Eclipse Comics.
